What makes this website so much fun?

Portable-games.nl has been around longer than you think. The site has its history in webhero.nl around 2002 and offered gaming news. This went quite well, but the domain name did not match the content. Time for a solid successor that also has to do with gaming in name.

Gamemag.nl was a very popular gaming website and even decisive for the Dutch industry. We took our audience back to the time of the Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Sony Playstation 2 and the Microsoft Xbox. We also experienced outliers such as the Nokia N-Gage. However, at the end of 2006 the curtain fell. Not because there were no visitors, on the contrary, but maintaining such a site takes a lot of time. We no longer had that time for technical maintenance, further development, but certainly not enough to be able to provide new content every day.

In 2015 we went for a second chance, much smaller and with a bit more focus: portable-games.nl. On this site you could find everything that had to do with portable gaming fun. We kept this up for a few years, until we took a big break in 2019. It wasn't good in terms of content. There was still too much to share, especially since portables are very popular and we also discussed Apple iPhone and Google Android stuff every now and then. If we want to do it again, the focus needs to be even tighter.

Now we're back with a focus. We want to tell you something about portables, but especially what the best games are on your portable.
In short: portable-games mainly offers top lists and history. Is your top list not there? Then contact us. Who knows, we might put it together?
